- Making a Difference - WE ARE ROTARY: Past District 7620 Governor, Bob Parkinson, and Rotary Club of Lexington Park President, Linda Lymas, with Susan Rice, former National Security Advisor. Ambassador Rice was the keynotespeaker at the End Polio luncheon.
- Making a Difference - I AM ROTARY: Rotary Club of Lexington Park member, Maria Icaza, is looking forward to opening her fourth local Dunkin Donuts shop. Maria, a lawyer by training, shares her experiences in business with the donor sponsored and Rotary supported "So Many Journeys Waiting for U" after-school program at Great Mills High School.
- Making a Difference - I AM ROTARY: Former owner of Brewster's Ice Cream and currently managing of a leading edge contract, Ray Bednarcik, serves as the Lane Director for Fundraising in the Rotary Club of Lexington Park. The Annual U.S. National Oyster Festival in St. Mary's County raised a record amount in 2017, all of which benefit mankind, most of it, right in our community.
- Making a Difference - I AM ROTARY: Rotary service takes many forms. Here Viet Nguyen, a member of the Rotary Club of Lexington Park serves at the U.S. National Oyster Festival by supporting the U.S. National Shucking Contest. Viet also chairs the annual Running of the Balls event held in August. These events permit the Club to better serve our community.
- Making a Difference - I AM ROTARY: A lifelong teacher, Jane Sypher, former Leonardtown CSM Administrator and Vice Principal at Great Mills High School offers a session on college career planning at the Rotary Club of Lexington Park supported "So Many Journeys Waiting for U", sponsored by an anonymous donor.
- Making a Difference - WE ARE ROTARY: In honor of Black History Month Past District Governor Janet L. S. Brown, PhD, spoke to Lexington Park Rotarians for the organizations Black History Month program. Brown is considered a trailblazer in Rotary International. In 2015-2016 she was the only African-American District Governor in Rotary, out of a total of 535 District Governors in the world. District Governors provide leadership and support to Rotary Clubs in designated areas. Janet L.S. Brown presents Club President Linda Lymas the Rappahannock Rotary Club Flag as a gracious gesture.
- Making a Difference - I AM ROTARY: Retired private school teacher, Dean Westcoat, a member of the Rotary Club of Lexington Park heads up the Club's participation in the Mission of Mercy. The Mission of Mercy seeks to provide vital dental services to those who cannot afford such services. Dean is also spearheading a matching grant to support this cause.
- Making a Difference - I AM ROTARY: Former Comptroller of the Naval Air Test Center, Board Chairman of the Patuxent Partnership, and successful financial consultant, Gene Townsend, joins with fellow members of the Rotary Club of Lexington Park as volunteers for the U.S. National Oyster Festival in St. Mary's County. The Oyster Festival, with many participating non-profits, raises money in support of many local charities.
- Making a Difference - I AM ROTARy: Dr. Regina Faden heads Historic St. Mary's City and will chair the St. Mary's Tourism Commission in 2018. She is also the new President Elect for the Rotary Club of Lexington Park, taking office in June 2019.
- Making a Difference - I AM ROTARY: Curtis Brown is the Director of the Charitable Projects Lane in the Rotary Club of Lexington Park. Here, he puts his business degree to work as he oversees the Club's entire Charity portfolio. This portfolio equitability distributes funds to worthy community causes. The funds are raised via the U.S. National Oyster Festival in St. Mary's County and other events. Curtis is also a moving force behind the Memorial Day weekend fundraiser, Rotary 4Vets 5/10K trot.
- Making a Difference - WE ARE ROTARY: Under the able leadership of Electrical Engineering Professor Dr. Sala Qazi, a Lexington Park Rotarian, students at Great Mills High School assembled two solar suitcases in the summer of 2017. These suitcases, designed to convert solar energy into electric power, were subsequently shipped to Kenya. There, they now light two schools in regions that lack reliable electric power.
- Making a Difference - I AM ROTARY: U.S. Naval Academy graduate, USNA Alumni Chapter President, and Entrepreneur, Mike DeManss, is preparing to take the reigns of the Rotary Club of Lexington Park as its President in the 2018-2019 year.
- Making a Difference - I AM ROTARY: Retired engineer and program manager, Danny Kolliopoulos, worked tirelessly on the Memorial Day weekend Saturday morning, to help register the some 250 runners who entered the second annual Rotary4Vets 5/10K Tri-County Trot on Solomons Island. The event raised $5,000 to support Warfighter Advance.

Frank led the Rotary emdorsed tree planting project. Under Frank's genial guidance, Rotarians assured trees were provided and planted at Lancaster Park, Nicolette Park and Great Mills High School. Frank also arranged for new RotaryWheel signs on Route 235.

- Be the Inspiration - I AM ROTARY: Acting Executive Director and Chief Academic Officer of the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center and Aerospace Engineer, Dr. Ben Latigo, tees off at the tenth at Breton Bay Country Club. Dr. Latigo, a superb golfer chaired the successful Rotary Club of Lexington Park Golf Tournament on Sept 20.
- Be the Inspiration - I AM ROTARY: Rotary Club of Lexington Park member and retired Economist, Dr. Walt Gardiner, describes the food handling process at the Calvert County "End Hunger" facility as a precursor to a Food Bank in St. Mary's county. Dr. Gardiner recently addressed an assembly of stakeholders in the "Feed St. Mary's" project.

- Affectionally known in Rotary District 7620 as "Mr. Rotary", Myron G "Mike" Marley was a founder and strong supporter of the Oyster Festival and a true pillar of the community. A memorial service for Mike, who passed away on Sept 24, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Mary's City, Maryland.

- Be the Inspiration - I AM ROTARY: Retired College Coordinator for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Christine Lennox, invigorates students during a recent elementary school visit to distribute dictionaries to third graders.
- Be the Inspiration – WE ARE ROTARY: Ever since losing his home to a fire, Mike Schwartz of Mike’s Bikes has been giving back to the community that supported him so well. Starting modestly, Mike’s annual food drive has resulted in the distribution of as many as 2,000 full turkey dinners in a single year. The Rotary Club of Lexington Park is proud to support this outstanding humanitarian effort providing holiday dinners those who otherwise might not enjoy a traditional holiday feast.
