Interact at St. Mary’s Ryken High School

Making a Difference – WE ARE ROTARY: The St. Mary’s Ryken Interact Club was formed in 2016 under the sponsorship of Mary Joy Hurlburt of the Rotary Club of Lexington Park and President of St. Mary’s Ryken High School. The Club is led by faculty member John Pennisi. In this school year, the Interact club: 1) raised money to provide books, educational games, and clothing for a 7-year-old in need, 2) volunteered at the St. Mary’s County Oyster Festival which is a Rotary Club sponsored event, 3) attended a 4-day mission trip to Camden, New Jersey and completed a variety of service projects including working in a soup kitchen and visiting elderly residents in a nursing home, and 4) helped Little Flower School to set-up for their Italian Night fundraising event.
