Rotary Serving Humanity (2016-2017 Rotary International Theme)

President's Welcome

President’s Message

My Fellow Rotarians:

I look forward to this year full of new opportunities to make our club grow and thrive. Our dedicated and committed members and BODs are the right team to make this happen! We now have our Leadership Plan in place as well as our Strategic Plan. We are moving forward!

Our goals summarized from our new Strategic Plan are:

  • Promote the recognition of the Rotary Club of Lexington Park
  • Increase membership, develop flexible attendance options, increase fun     fellowship opportunities
  • Increase scope and participation in revenue generating and service projects
  • Increase our net income from our fundraising events to better support charities and scholarships
  • Define our club through a living leadership plan

John Germ has revealed “Rotary Serving Humanity” as the 2016-2017 Presidential themes. Rotary’s founder, Paul Harris, believed that serving humanity is “the most worthwhile thing a person can do,” and Rotary is a “great opportunity” to make it happen. Germ also added, “We are at a crossroads in Rotary. We may be in the year that sees the world’s last case of polio.” Our opportunities to serve Rotary is “not a small opportunity, but a great one; an opportunity of a lifetime to change the world for the better, forever through Rotary’s service to humanity.”

Thank you for choosing me as your President. I am honored by your support and confidence in me. Let us forge ahead!
